CZ-70 or Coinstrike. For coin hunting, which one?

Hi, all. I have a CZ-70. I'm thinking about a Coinstrike. Coins are my big target, old coins. I detect in the Boston area. The CZ-70 works well, but there are alot of features on the Coinstrike that sound appealing, such a target i.d. #.

CZ's are known to be depth demons. I've used a CZ-5 for years, with great results. The past couple years, I've noticed that basically, all my good finds are coming out of old parks and schools that are still being used, and as a result, are really trashy. It seems like the local competition don't like messing with trashy spots. Oh well, more for me.

I would like to get my hands on a Coin$trike (and a CZ-3D, for that matter). From what I've read, a C$ is good at pulling coins out of junky areas, near iron, etc. The only problem, is that the C$ suffers from RFI, and here in my area, there's lots of RFI around. Most of my hunting areas have some RFI. I've learned to deal with it on my CZ-5, but I'm not sure how a C$ would handle it.

I don't have that much RF in most of the areas that i hunt so the C$ does fine. You may want to consider the CZ3d, which was made specifically for hunting older pre-1950's sites.

Thanks men for your response. Wow, rf interfereance is something I never heard about the coinstrike. I know my cz-70 works well without any interfereance. I have a vibraprobe, and it has a timed shut off mechanism. While the probe is still on, When the head of the 70 swings near the vibra probe on my hip, it will cause interferance. This does drive me crazy, why don't they just put a switch on that thing. But other than that, there is no interferance for the 70. I wonder if the 70 works well, maybe a coinstrike will work well? I don't know, well thaqnks men for your enlightening insight. I will have to look more into that before I give up my 70.

Thanks Kidd

Do this when you GB. Go into Auto-tune, Sens @ 10. Lift the coil up to about the level of your head. You may want to spin 360

that, and my other half would kill me if I bought another MD right now. I've thought about getting a 3D, but again, the "other half" factor weighs heavily on that. Also, many of the areas I'm currently searching are still seeing active use, so there's lots of aluminum trash to deal with, the kind that really make hunting a 3D in Enhanced a P.I.T.A. Those beavertails are killing me! They sound so good, just like an old nickel!

CZ 70 all the way. I never liked the coinstrike even no I knew how to use it.
