CZ-70 help and also thank you for helping me make the choice to buy one

I just purchased a used CZ-70 pro after reading this forum. I must say you all were right its a great machine. I took it out twice FRI/SAT and have found 6 pieces of silver, 7 nickels (1-buffalo/ 1 -V), and 24 Wheat pennys. The question I have is that I have to set it at sen 4 and groundbalance around 3. If I set the sens any higher it falses like crazy and if I ground balnce higher then 3 it falses alot when I'm at sens 4. My question is does wet ground affect the ground balance and is 3 ground balance a bad thing, Am I losing deapth with this setting. When I do it the way your suppose to do it, It tells me to ground balance between 4 and 5 but when I try it that way it falses alot. Is this the nature of the beast or is my machine messed up. I'm afraid I have a short in the coil. Anyway I can't complain as the two places I hunted with it has been hunted to death. It loves nickels and the coins read just right. I have owned all of the major brands and also have a coinstrike but this machine is a coin magnet. I just don't understand why it falses so much, I'll get use to it either way but just concerned that I have to dail down the groundbalance so low. And beleive it or not but I'm very happy that I don't dig alot of iron like I feared about the same as other units less then some. Thanks everyone for the great posts about this machine its because of your opions that I purchased one. Happy Holidays

Wet ground will affect ground balance . In some places salt will help. The CZ and the COIN-STRIKE will ID deep coins better then any of the new $1000 units. You have the best combo available just don't tell my wife she will want to know why I spent $2000 on new units this year when I already had what I think is the best. I do love my EDGE also.

Lance, you have bought a great machine. As for your observation on the sensitivity, you are correct...going above 4 in ID mode will result in annoying falsing and little-to-no depth increase. Some here on the forum will dispute that, and that's fine. If they don't have a CZ-70 but some other CZ, they may be able to run it a little higher without falsing. And in some ground types, you may too. But it's mostly not worth it. Tom Dankowski has said that a CZ-70 achieves 95% of it's depth at sens 4 in ID mode and there is little to be gained by raising it. In Autotune mode, it's different...you can. I don't prefer to hunt in Autotune mode, so that means nothing to me. Set it at 4 and leave it there forever. It will still dig coins at nearly a foot deep.

On the ground balancing, I made a post a long time ago on here that tried to explain it. If you follow it to the letter, you will have a perfectly ground balanced unit. It sounds like a lot but it's not. Once you get it down, it takes about 30 seconds.

Here it is:
