CZ 7 Mod?

Jharhed

New member
Got a real good deal on a cz7, and was wondering if anyone has done a mod on one of the battery packs as in putting a switch in series with pack and one of the terminals on the detector to avoid having to remove batteries to avoid drain?

Would think if you have the ability and tools but don't know if Fisher would repair a modded unit..Yep it used batteries in storage and had a slow pinpoint which was corrected by the CZ7A. Just as deep as other CZ units and weighting and ergonomics are the best of the lot not to mention 80-90- hours on a set of AA batteries. Unit never was big seller as one could not hipmount thus the CZ7A pro was introduced.

Well, I added a switch in series with the neg pack terminal and the corresponding post on the cz, using electrical tape to avoid continuity in spots,no drilling or soldering, seems to work, switch can be tucked back in the battery compartment after switched on or off i'll know more later.

Having owned a CZ7 and CZ7A always felt removing a pack after every hunt would cause premature wear on the battery compartment and the sliding door which covers it.
