I got hot tip from city worker they were putting in waterpipe near the greens in the center of town. I fired up my cz7 apro with five inch coil on it got there and and found some nice silver coins and nickles before i goy booted out by the cop's i was decting for about two hours i wonder what else was there!!

:Um....WOW!
I'd be going back there again after that cops shift was over....

Doesn't hurt to ask the foreman of the job and make sure you get his name as been there done that. Of course all circumstances differ but when approached by the powers to be certainly helps
whether you stay or not...Most give a positive answer once they are done for the day and will keep an eye on your equipment doesn't hurt either....

You would think Cops would have better things to do like maybe catch real criminal's? I have been booted out of a few sites myself. Even had a couple Barney Fife types threaten to give me a citation if they seen me again! What a joke some of the cop's out there are!

From my experiences with the police and metal detecting... I have found that not all of the police officers are as bad as you make them out to be. Some of them will be out their detecting right beside you. Just ask some of the members on this forum. :)

Being a retired Pa. State Policeman and now a detectorist for a good many years been on both sides of the fence.Lets just say all detectorists or for that matters cops are the same and these incidents ruin my day either way. Unfortunately in our organization every complaint had to be investigated and the complainant usually does not have to identify themselves and policeman sure have a lot more to worry about than frivolous complaints. As a detectorist always try to get permission and wearing either hat a little common sense goes a long way.... just part of the job or for that matter part of the hobby and certainly every incident differs.

yes! always try to obtain permission! it can be a gigantic pain in the a**
however, can be a much "bigge"r pain in the a** if a property owner wants to
prosecute!..just sayin'

(h.h.!)
j.t.

If you ever get a 75.00 citation for digging in a ''PUBLIC'' owned park I bet you would have a different opinoin!

I sorry for not full tell the whole story the way the got kidout was not the policeman fault the town doesnt want liblity if get injured on the site . That why booted out site. ok

What is the difference between a CZ7 and a CZ5 or CZ3D. I know the last two, but never heard the 7 mentioned before. I like my husband's 3D, in fact I would like to get one.

The cz-7 is digital as far as the cops go I always check in with them at the police department that way they know I'm out there one time I didn't and someone called in and said I was toting a rifle in the park about 3-4 cop cars rolled up on me at the same time and you talking about getting nervous! I about had to go change my pants! After they seen what I had one busted out laughing and I thought he was going to piss his pants they came up and talked to me for a while and heck you couldn't have meet any nicer fellows. One of them got my number and he went and bought himself a detector and I hunt occasionally with him.
