CZ-6 search coil question

New member
Hi all: A guy on ebay has a 5inch 4 pin fisher search coil for sale does anyone know if it will work on my CZ-6? Thanks for your help, Dan

CZ6 originally came with a 4 pin molded connector so 5 pin would not work, however many CZ6 units were changed over to accept the 5 pin so check your unit...In other words depends on the number of pins and a 4 pin will certainly not work on a 5 pin coil..Since you bought used it could have been changed as many were due to many faulty 4 pin connectors....

Mine has 5 pins... is that 5th pin a dedicated ground?

... it says cz6 Quicksilver but has no pigtail for coil connection.
Coil plugs into back of case.
Does that mean it is CZ-6A ?

Thank you

I think the search coil would be a great deal for someone who needs a 4 pin coil(never used no scuffs). The price label was taken of the coil which was 107 dollars which would indicate this was for the CZ because of the manufacture price, which the 1200 series was 99.00.The coil hasn't been tested because the buyer(me) was at work and in a hurry when he bought the coil and over looked the CZ5 used a five pin.hope this helps alias (anotherdayattheoffice)

All it means is you have a CZ6 that has been upgraded at the factory to an A model..Thus 5 pins and no pigtail....
Still weather resistant with an upgraded 5 pin connector and no pigtail which was a bad idea anyway...

Well, I do have intermittent probs with my CZ-6.
There is a good chance it's the coil wire, and/or coil.

So, I took apart my 5 pin connector to check for discrepancies and discovered only 4 pins are actually used!
There was not even a cable shield tied to the 5th pin. surprise!
