CZ-6 External speaker,how do they fit on ???

This may seem like a really stupid question,but how does the CZ-6 external speaker fit onto the detector,the reason i ask is i have just bought a new one to be used on another detector during the summer so that i can hear it much better than the very small speaker in my Pulse,i was hoping that it was just a external speaker and it could plug into any detector.

Gut feeling tells me i have made a big mistake and it wont fit on any other detector but a CZ-6 or will it work ??? if so how is it powered.

Told you it was a stupid question and after buying it i wish i had not bought it.

The speaker slips over the edge front hood that covers the upper edge of the control panel and then locks down under the two screws used to secure the battery door.

Many thanks for your quick reply, was hoping it was just say a speaker with a clip and all you done was plug it into the headphone socket.Can you recall if it would be a easy job to take it off the panel with just say a few screws or is it a moulded fixing and cannot be taken off ???

As i did take chance with it thinking it was just the speaker,but i am hoping when it arrives i can take the speaker off the housing or what ever you call it.

The speaker is specifically designed for a Fisher CZ 6 detector and it would also mount on a CZ5 and CZ6a as well... even though the 5 & 6a already have internal speakers.

I suppose you could mount the CZ6a external speaker on any other detector using two elastic bands and just plug the 1/4" jack into the jack well and it should work?

Actually they made two and the one not mentioned just plugged in but can't remember how it attached to the rod or box. Not sure but think its only for the specific CZ6 wiring but when I had both never tried them on any other units and been years so don't know how accurate my post is. Not to worry as should be able to resell as not many around after all these years. Circa 92-93......
