we went out and hunted a park near a lake that we have hunted at least ten times, but while swinging down around the edge of the lake, she hit a nickel/pulltab signal about 3" deep and decided to dig it and bingo, a 10K yellow gold ring in the shape of a cross with 4 small diamonds and a ruby in the center. It was very mucky, but cleaned up very nice.

1) Go to the CZ Forum, towards the bottom of the main index here on Findmall.

2) Run searches for my handle. I swing a CZ-5 on the land, and a CZ-20 in the water, although you'll have to go to the Beach Forum to find my posts about water hunting.

It might also behoove you read just about every post on the CZ Forum, as there are many technical discussions that shed light on how a CZ operates. Learning just what a CZ is telling you is key to finding the goodies, especially in my area, as I seem to by the only person using a CZ on land in my town (that I know of at this time). I think my competition just doesn't like dealing with trash, as for the past two years, I've been finding LOTS of good coins in trashy areas. Just go slow, learn to GB properly, and learn to pinpoint well. Then, start learning what averaged and/or co-located targets sound like, as in many areas, those are the only good targets left.

Hey Jim,

Yes, this search is very strange. "CZ6" brings up no results but "CZ6a" does. So does "CZ3D". If you search for "CZ*" the asterisk acts like a wildcard character (matches any alphanumeric character) and fetches all results with CZ in the post. It's a goofy way to have to do it but it works.

http://mikewd.fws1.com/ Mikes CZ page contains a lot of info and is applicable to all CZ's..

CZ5 came out in approx 93 and was manufactured for 11 or 12 years before being replaced by the CZ3D....Shocked a lot of people as many feel the CZ5 was one of the best CZ models...

Thanks Allen,I read most of the 8 pages that relate to your comments!I will be going back and pick out certain posts and read the other TH'ers comments.I have COPD(breathing problems)So what I'm trying to do is be selective about my digging.I use to be able to hunt all day,but now a couple of hours(with breaks) is all I can manage.I also have lower back problems that can't be physically treated because I have an anurism in that area. Not complaining to you,but to let you know why I want to be pretty sure that I am digging something worthwhile.
