CZ 5 question

Eric

New member
With sens. set at 3, and disc. set at 2 my cz5 will not respond to a small hammered coin.It does on disc.1.

the rest of the coins it does really good. My compass coin pro hits really hard on every bit of small silver.

Thanks for tips. Eric.

I'm assuming you're over in Europe or the UK, if you're looking for hammered coins.

The CZ series is really geared towards American coins. It will find coins from other countries, but, they may not come in at a Nickel, Zinc, or "High Coin".

Personally, I never hunt with the disc. at more than 0 Disc., as I want to hear all the tones, from Iron and Aluminum junk. In other countries, especially as old as Europe and the UK, I'd be digging anything that wasn't Iron, and maybe even signals that bounce Iron / other.

The coin in question due to its mettalic content is just disced out..
I agree with Allen where you are hunting the coins are so varied just about have to dig all lest you lose some coins.Don't know beans about hammered coins but just an educated guess...

This particular coin reads the large pulltab next to iron. The larger hammered coins give a clear tone.

Thanks, I guess i just should keep the disc setting very low.

here are some tips that i think will work...

1:use zero disc...
2:use the little coil "the hockey puck" as this allows for a much higher sens setting.....towards max
3:ground balance properly.....
4:walk slow...dig every signal from foil and up....
5:this works wonders here in Norway both on grassland and on
plowed fields and even in the woods.....
....set up in this way i have found even small fragments of our tiny
tiny hammered coins......
good luck and good hunting

Yes, i always favour the small coils and i already ordered one for the CZ-5.

Thanks...Eric.
