CZ-5 controlbox question

Eric

New member
I might sell or trade my CZ5 because I always hunt on the same fields that contain a lot of iron junk.

Recently the detector slipped and hit the cardoor and a piece of the edge broke off. SEE PICTURE.

Does anyone of you know if I have to replace the entire controlebox or is it possible to have a new edge fixed on it?

Thanks...Eric.

If you had the broken off part might be able to glue it back on..Might contact Fisher but they will have to replace the complete box assembly and migh be expensive..I would hope the guts didn't get rattled too much...Contact Fisher for an estimate and don't even know if they would have the decals as its no longer made...Good luck...

You can use a two part epoxy black or grey and repair the machine.
It will never look new, and will hurt the value. It will not look bad though. If it works thats what really counts in the end. I broke a CZ6
years ago and made a repair to the plastic. I did take a loss when I sold it. I hope you have the piece that broke off so it fits close and the epoxy will fill in the rest. The machine plastic looks black, but if I remember right I had to mix a black and grey to get the color close.

Eric.
The same thing happened to my cz-5, while I was down in Florida
on vacation. I contacted fisher they told me that I would have to
replace the complete control box, at a cost of around seventy-five
buck's. Needless to say, I didn't pay[ just a little steep.] The zc-5
is a great machine..

Thanks, and good hunting
