CZ-3D

New member
living in the UK,have ordered a CZ-3D from the USA this week plus the larger 10.5 coil, question, realising it will be a bit unbalanced what is the best postion for the control box and how would you fix ie rivit or bolt fixing ,or a short piece of pipe and fix above the arm cup .secondly there are no control box covers available what would you do to make it shower proof .

thanks John Moore

Hipmount it! Wear a long coat when it rains. That's what I do.

Heck, if you have a place that sells leather, and you've got the skills and tools to work with leather, you could custom-make a hipmount "holster" for the controlbox. I'm thinking about doing that with my CZ-5, since my after-market black Nylon pouch from Fisher is starting to fall apart after 7 years of use.

John,You probably used a Minelab.I had a 10 inch coil on a CZ5 and the balance wasn't that bad.The CZ3D control box will slide off the rod asm and the unit can be belt mounted. The guys I hunt with usually use a large plastic freezer bag for a cover on the Fishers, they're cheap and work really well.

I belive Sunray used to do a great leather pouch for the sovereign at one time .

John so that confirms that you did or still use a Minelab. Here in the States we usually go cheap and simple for box covers. We don't want to draw attention to ourself, which someone may think we're a Brit and call the IMS and have one deported.
