CZ-3D vs F75 Ltd

CZ-3D vs F75 Ltd (or T2 Ltd)

Yes I know it is like comparing apples to oranges, BUT I mean in performance wise. Does anyone know which one has the better depth? (Yes I know the Multiple Frequency CZ-3D will go deeper in wet salt-water sand.)

Is the CZ-3D the best CZ ever made? Any other comments? Thanks!
 
Well, I have voiced my thoughts before that I think the two go great together. The CZ is simple performance. I dig a lot of junk and trash, but I find some great marginal targets. I love the small relics, tokens, watch fobs and odd things I find. I am still new to the LTD and trying to use it more and learn the things it is trying to tell me. When the LTD is talking and I am tired the CZ is a welcome break. When the CZ is overwhelmed by trash the LTD offers the ability to figure out a new approach to get the job done. There are times I love the VDI numbers If your budget permits it, I think you should have both of them. I am going to start testing soon, running a grid and then going back over it with the other one to see if one truly out performs the other consistently. Most times I take both of them with me.
I guess another answer might be, master either one and I think you would be happy. They are very different but both get the job done. I hope some of the others chime in with their thoughts.

Sounds like with the CZ you dig more trash. The LTD handles trash better.

And sounds like the CZ is quieter, talks less, and handles bad ground better. Meaning more ground noise with the LTD.

And not dig a lot of trash. It all depends on what you are looking for. The stock 8 inch coil and the smaller 5 inch coil does very well in trash. The entire key to any CZ is to listen to ALL targets...another words, run it in 0 discrimination setting and listen to all the iron low tones. I know it can get a little much, but when you get the sharp high tone amongst the low iron tone, and investigate it and it repeats with 4 way sweeps and is small, it's a good target.

If you see the pic of the wheat pennies I dug on the beach, these pennies were in a lot of iron yet I dug very little iron. Also, the foreign coins were low tone/mid tone or mid tone hits, and after digging one or two, I dug all those low/mid tone hits and got 8 more of those coins. A lot of those coins nulled on the Excal my brother was using. I imagine due to them being made with some steel in them.

Never used an F75, but since most of my hunting is on the beaches, I am CZ prone.
 
I guess I need to clarify a little. Yes I dig a lot of trash, but I am also looking for some marginal targets in heavily hunted areas. I normally, can call the shot whether it is trash or not when I dig. The cool Indiana Civil War era button that I dug only hit good in one direction. I slowed down hit it from several angles and convinced myself I was hearing more good than bad. I am willing to dig trash to find these small, unusual targets. It isn't so much that the CZ doesn't give me good information, it is more I gamble on marginal signals a lot.
You asked about depth and either one will amaze and astound you. My CZ isn't an early one, but the Civil War medal I found was at least ten or 11 inches. The F75 has pulled dimes and quarters at 9 or 10 inches with a hard signal and the small coil. I know it will go even deeper.

what were your settings on the f-75?..thanks!

I don't no I must have had a bad F-75. The deepest silver I got with it was a little over 8''. The CZ-3D I had I regularly dug 11' dimes! And yes it was an original 1021 first run machine from los banos. I don't care what anyone say's there is a difference! I know because I had both! If you don't believe me just ask Mr. dankowski. I think he know's a little bit about CZ-3Ds!
 
I hunt with both the CZ-70 and the F75 LTD, and I think they make a great combination of detectors for a multitude of reasons.

I find that they are about equal on depth if the CZ has a large coil on it. Unfortunately it's more like an apples to bricks comparison because there's no DD for the CZ, the CZ is a multifrequency machine which is great for salt water beach hunting and highly mineralized soil, but it also does far better in EMI then the LTD in my experience. I also find that both machines will find targets that the other misses when turf hunting. The CZ-70 was Fishers answer to the Explorer, which to me says a lot about the machine. It's rain/splash proof, has a backlight, notching, and many features the 3D does not have.

I'm just about ready to sell all my other detectors,Minelab SE,DFX,F75(2 of them) and a F70 and get 2 CZ3D's.The CZ's are the deepest in my soil.They ID deep silver better in my ground.I find a lot more wheat pennies,Indianhead pennies,old nickels(Buffalo and V nickels) and tokens.Lots of people say they love iron.I can't say that they false on deep iron anymore than the Minelabs or Whites.If you hunt for the "deepies" you will dig some iron.The only "junk" target that causes problems for me is smashed flat aluminum screwcaps.They will ID as a quarter.If you pinpoint them and the pinpoint is "screaming loud" it's almost always a smashed aluminum screwcap.I think I've only dug one or 2 shallow clad quarters that pinpointed loud like them.My good coin ratio has gone way down since I started hunting with the VDI number machines,I dig way more clad than old coins with the VDI machines.I had the honor of hunting with JamesND a Explorer guru one day on some old sites.He finds 300 plus silver coins a year.He showed me the trash he digs and we compared signals throughout the long hunt.He couldn't tell the difference between a wheatie and a silver dime that day.Some deep silver dimes ended up being clad dimes.Don't get me wrong he is head and shoulders above me in research and knowing his machine.His biggest tips were do good research,dig deep coin like signals and have fun.He said there was no way to get around digging some deep iron,some aluminum as they sounded too good to pass up.My CZ 70 was twice as deep,measured, as my DFX on the saltwater beaches of North Carolina when I was hunting there last winter.My F75 with the little 3X7 concentric coil is an absolute clad coin magnet in heavy trash.It's so fast you can swing it and then go back and "work" the hightones and dig coins out of heavy trash.It is fatiguing as it is noisy though.I'm addicted to coin hunting and hunt alot from early spring through freeze up.Bill
 
what kind of depth (on average) were you getting in heavy trash using the 3x6" coil on the f-75?
