CZ-3d Question

I have owned my 3d well since it came out and it has been my main detector since, i was just wondering what is the maximum sensitivity you have run before, my machine will false like crazy if you get any higher than 4sens, and i have detected all over MI. OH. KY. no mater where it ground balances. you get to 4 and it falses . That said it gets good depth everywhere i,ve been and i have found tons of great stuff. I just know that the hand me down CZ-7apro that i gave my wife to use gets better depth, you can run the sens up to 8 in the same area that i cannot get past 4, And the funny thing is we compare ground balances and they are the same. Now i'm not complaining i just gotta figure out why she keeps kicking my buttocks

Seems like the 3D has different sens. parameters and 4 is about max and believe Nasa Tom says 4.8....in any case at Sens. 4 it will go as deep as your other older CZ set at 8. Noticed the same aspect on a CZ70 the last digital CZ made...Nothing wrong with your unit as seems to be working fine sens. wise..

Thanks Dan, i did read 4.8 somewhere either this forum or Toms i cant remember. We have got this guy in our club that says he runs his 3D at 8 sens and he swears something is wrong with mine but i never see him on the find of the month table :)

Your CZ3D is fine and 4 or 5 seems to be tops for depth and stability and would think either your friend runs his unit unstable or perhaps his is not tuned correctly. In any case
imagine may be some areas where low mineralization allows for higher sens. but we have medium mineralization and 4 worked just fine for me and even with older CZ's sens. of 6 seemed to be the optimum setting.. Heck Nasa Tom developed the unit and from actual experience find 4 or a bit higher to be the optimum setting on a CZ3D...Keep hunting the way you are and surely you will find yourself being on top rel your clubs finds of the month...
