all the CZ-3D's were made by Fisher in Los Banos and none by First Texas in Texas apparently. The CZ-3D stock out there includes some lifetime warranty machines when made before/during the transition with most repackaged with a manual and warranty that said 5 years per First Texas.
I just got a new one yesterday with a lifetime warranty that's stable and HOT-hits a dime at over 12 inches in Enhanced, reads old nickels right, and a pulltab is still a midtone. I just picked up an 1882 $5 half eagle for testing along with some shield nickels to make sure they give a high tone too. A 3D for me. in enhanced, with a properly tuned machine, is so easy to use at old sites since most midtone trash stays midtone but coins ring in nice and clear with a high tone. I still love a CZ-70 but a good properly tuned 3D really is hard to beat. I find the 3D to actually be better in iron than a CZ-70 for some reason and the 3D seemed to go deeper with better ID for coins...JMHO...HH
