is quick to notice iron ! I dig up some of it up too, but not nearly as much with the 5 inch coil. I think most of it is that you have to be able to isolate/locate a target before it can be evaluated for consistency and whatall. Nails, bolts, screws, and the like often reveal themselves unless not lying flat or seriosly bent, etc. Washers are just hateful but old, really rusty iron bottle caps are often "inconsistent" and not "compact" like coins or rings. I usually run in Enhanced Mode with minimum tolerable discrimination and kind of a "Zen" attitude. Seems to work once in a while.

That 5 incher will help pick things out. You're doing well to liston to all the tones as well. That doesn't look like practice, it looks like you have the hang of it.

I enjoyed looking at your finds, nothing like finding an old Indian. I hunt some sites that are covered by nails, I have found that raking and then using a powerful magnet to pull the nails out helps. Have you tried a magnet with your site? Thanks.js

Silvernail, great finds and interesting post.I agree the CZ post is too dead sometimes. Here in Michigan -10 for lows two sraight days last week at least a month and a half before we come out of hibernation.

and I might give it a shot when the soil warms up. Logically, there could be a few more that were fully masked. Really annoys me that no minty Barber quarters showed up! :)
