CZ-3D HMMMM I don't know

Well I played with it for two days and I know there are a few ways to ground balance it but the pumping is the best
Better than the pinpoint method anyway.
This detector is a little on the unique side and it is not a boring machine to say the least. There are a few ways to use it.
It is deep but 8" is the deepest coin in my test garden now and I was going to put some in deeper but have not done it yet.
I have a 1236X2 coming and I might put this one up again.
I had a couple of offers before but trades only and some were not to my liking.
I had a fellow with a tejon that wanted to trade but he never sent pics.
Another was a Vaquero but I have plenty of time but I am an action type guy.
I have to have something working or I am bored. I like to buy them, try them and then sell them and move on.
there are so many detectors out there for sale.

CZ3D is not for everyone but excells in those real old areas in sort of a dig more to find more analogy. Heck I used my original CZ6 for months in the field until I was comfortable with it especially its like for deep rusty nails...Have to put in some field time my friend lest it goes on the market.
As far as the 1236 sort of like comparing a Ford to a Mercedes when talking CZ's and good luck in your ventures...

I agee with Dan. You cant compare the CZ with a 1236. The CZ's just offer way more information. My buddy just got a brand new 1236 in the box and he loves it, and has been making some really nice finds..and he thinks this is going to be his main machine, and sell his others. However...like I told him, "dont think your not going to be using your other machines". Eventually he will get tired of working with a 1 tone single discrimination machine with no vdi, when he is working in real trashy areas.
I've never met anyone seriously involved in this hobby who only had one machine.

"I've never met anyone seriously involved in this hobby who only had one machine."

So true. It may be due to todays economic happenings, that serious hunters are getting rid of some detectors, but rest assured at one point they had lots of em, and tried lots of em.

The CZ3D can be a main, go to detector for all types of hunting ( underwater and prospecting excluded ) and be used exclusively. Its a great unit. I use my CZ's most of the time, but there are times when I am in the mood for a quick tot lot hunt of just dry sand hunting and there are a lot of machines I have that I would pick first before the 3D for that.

yup i owned the 1236x2 as well awesome little machine and found some stuff my tesoro's left behind then got the 1270 and man i was finding some good stuff with that but when it came to pinpointing it was kind of miserable to work with even with the 5" coil learned after a while had to turn down the sens all the way down to get a smaller pinpoint

I love my CZ, but for tot lots, I find I can't get close enough to the playgroung equipment to make it my "go to" tot lot detector. I've kept my 1265 with the eight inch coil for those occasions.
