CZ3D like other CZ's is a user friendly depth demon and as deep or deeper than any...I frequently get 8 to 10 inch silver dimes and now and then grab them even several inches deeper in highly mineralized Pa. soil..I remember the first deep one I got at about a foot dug about 8 inches and gave up as digging was tough in rocky soil. Left it and returning to my van with no luck got the signal again and decided to go all the way and at about a foot got a nice Barber dime and about 20 feet down the path got a like signal and retrieved a Merc. dime at about 10 inches. Although they are user friendly takes time in the field to learn what the audio is telling you. Remember this is in my neck of the woods but then and there knew I had a super deep machine and with time in the field you should be digging them deep also...
