I got the CZ-3D from bubby in the mail. Posted it right away but after reading about it I changed my mind.
Bubby really took good care of it and he sent me some extras like a couple of detecting magazines and a book from Dankowski and a couple of other treasure books. One is about Pancho Villas treasure hidden over here in this country.
HMMMMMM-I wonder if he buried it in my back yard. anyway aftr reading some parts from Dankowski I think I should learn how to ground balance it the right way and give it a try for the summer anyway.
I've got a 1236 X 2 coming also.
Well wish me luck.
David

Good decision. The CZ3d is a lot of fun and is simple to learn. They go deep and don't have many issues with EMI. I think you will find yourself picking up the CZ more and more once you get used to using it.
Let us know how you get along with the CZ.

Hello David. I had actually replied to your ad regarding the CZ-3D but you never did respond.

I just bought a used Los Banos model CZ-3D from Therover. There's no question the CZ-3D is one very capable machine. Just a matter of committing yourself to learning it...just like any other machine. I can't wait to receive mine...should be here middle of next week. Also ordered Tom Dankowski's DVD. He used the prototype version of the CZ-3D throughout the entire video...exact same guts as the Los Banos machines just that the box was different on his. Should really help alot to understand the nuances of this unit. My only regret is lack of time. If I'm able to get out on 15 or 20 hunts before the ground freezes I'll be very lucky. Keep us posted.

David learn the bobbing method of ground balancing....I would practice in your back yard as when you get in field a bob or 3 and your off...Heres a tip ...put volume at 10 and also sens. at 10 so you can hear the changes better for a super accurate ground balance as it leads to more depth and stability. After balancing put both parameters where you wish as its all right to lower without re-balancing but you can't raise levels lest you have to re-balance...Seems to cause a headache for many CZ newbies but easy as pie with practice.

ok
I will try that.
I don't remember getting anything from jeffns in the kine of email.
THE ROVER HUH!
I'm glad, his stuff looks mint .
I will try the bobbing method for grounfd balance -Does not look that hard.
I left this morning for Albany Ny-My wife had a meeting with the commisioner of Education
I don't care for albany at all. Beautiful huge buildings downtown and a block away is boarded up houses and really run down. Not a place to walk at night.
A 3 hr. drive one way for a one hr meeting. We stopped in Saratoga ny and had lunch. What a neat little town, Tons of shops and dinner places.
Thats where they run the travers -It's big on horse racing and tradition. You can't rent a place there in racing season without paying through the nose for accomodations.
At the track you can't get in the clubhouse without a Jacket. Probably one of the oldest big time tracks in America
