CZ-3D and CZ-70 advantage

Just a quick question.....

Being a dig everything detectorist. Would the CZ-3D offer any real performance difference or advantage over lets say the CZ-70?

I understand the 3D moves some items that register as trash on other detectors into a high tone category. But if I normally dig all anyways then it would seem almost pointless. I know in the intelligence report it more or less says you wouldn't see any advantges if you dig everything to begin with. Just curious on peoples thoughts.

If you're a dig all guy, I don't see any advantage to the 3D. I'm an old coin cherrypicker. That's what I want. I seldom go back to a site once I've covered all of it I want to. The exception being is if it's a really good site, I may go back and re-cover it with my 5" coil. I generally go and get permission on another site. I'm just too lazy to dig every signal in hopes that it will be the 1 in 50 that the machine misidentifies AND it turns out to be a good target. The beauty of the 3D for me is that I will occasionally pick up a button that signalled in to the hi-coin section on it. If I dug every non-ferrous hit I get, I'd never get done with any site. I have dug quite a few PT signals just to see what they are and I very seldom pull a keeper from it.

Then I would suggest getting a 1270, and forget about a target-id type of machine. You'll get more depth with the 1270, and you can hunt faster with it than an Id unit.

I can't do that, my back won't allow it, so I'm stuck with using a target-id unit to selectively dig the targets that have a higher percentage of being "good".

Good luck with your decision,

I never thought about the 1270. A good machine? You will have to forgive my questions. I have solely used Minelabs and Whites machines so Fishers are new to me.

So the 1270 overall is a deeper machine? Is it a 3 tone? 4 tone? While I'm waiting for replies I am going to go to a google search and read ;)

Single tone, very deep.

Here's a link with field tests, owner's manual, etc.

Hope this helps,

So I have been reading up on the 1270. Seems to be one heck of a machine and not really that old either. Without target id, how does one judge the depth of a target? Weak tone?

Everything I have read seems to support that this is one deep machine. Now I am curious as to how it compares to the CZ line.
