CZ-21

I currently operate two CZ-20's and a CZ-3D. I see very few comments on the CZ-21. Is there any significant difference between the 20 and the 21? I've been considering buying a 21 to replace my older 20. Is this a waist of time and money or is move a good one?

Thanks for any thoughts and comments.

Hello ocbob, I have a friend who is a highly experienced CZ20 user, who recently purchased a CZ21 and could tell NO difference in performance. Get one!

If anything it's better. A Tap Pinpoint VCO, that gets louder as the target get closer to the center of the coil. Sensitivity knobs are better and more accurate. Not just set at 5 or 6 anymore. I can crank it up to 10 and run deeper 18+ inches. Over all, going from a CZ- 20 to a CZ- 21 is awesome. I'll let you know how the CZ-21 performs in the salt water environment after I get back from the Shoot out in Daytona next Friday.

Hello Tom:

Thanks for the info on the CZ-21. I will most likely buy a 21 in the coming weeks.

I've been betecting for about 35 years or so. Since my retirement from the Wilmington, DE Fire Department in 2000, I spend most of my summer in Fenwick Island, DE hunting the beaches of Delaware and Maryland. Most summers I find over 50 rings and other assorted jewelry, $600 to $800 in change, and hundreds of other items.

I've owned several make detectors over the years but find the CZ-20 works best in this area. I'm getting 18+ inches in dry sand and a bit less in the water. Because I hunt 6 to 8 hourd a day my detectors tend to wear out or need tooning every year or so. I really dont need 4 detectors so my oldest CZ-20 may head for the happy hunting grounds.

Thanks again for answering my questions, and good luck on your trip.

OK Here's the scoop. I'm back from Daytona beach. I had to drop the sensitivity down from 10 to 5 and ground from 8 to 6 to get the detector to stabilize. Other than that, the CZ- 21 performed well. I managed to grab a nice 10 K gold ring, a silver bracelet and a silver ring before being knocked off the shovel by those nasty waves down there. No kidding, 3 ft breakers at the shore line and lots of white caps and rips. The beach patrol and life guards had over 100 call outs that weekend. Only one person died. I just got lucky and found a cut after low tide.
Over all, The machine worked well, but it works better in fresh water.
