CZ-21 or Whites Dual Field???? Would like to hear some responses

Aloha everyone in this forum but debating to get another metal detector but having hard time deciding!! Currently I have 2 Whites Surfmaster PI's and found lots of gold with it but am looking to add a new detector to my arsenal. I live in Hawaii and have to deal with hot rocks, black sand and lots of metal in the water. Can anyone help me decide which metal detector would be my best bet for my location?? I heard from some of you that the Excalibur doesn't work good in Hawaii and that the CZ-21 would be a better choice. What about the new Whites Dual Frequency?? Any feedback would be much appreciated!!!

All I can tell you about it the Dual Field and you wouldn't go wrong with it as its deeper than the PI PRO... I havbe found some very old deep rings with it... I haven''t hunted in 3 months as family matters have come first... its different than the PI PRO as I can by sound tell when I'm over a bottlecap and wire... my second to the last find was a 18k wedding band dated 1892 and that ring was deep... 18+ inches... I dug it out of the mud and rocks...

The problem I have with discriminating machines is you are giving up depth and I rather dig more trash as long as I know I'm not going to miss the deep stuff... I owned an Excalibur and even though it was a fine detector it wasn't as deep as my PI PRO and that turned me off on the detector.... I'll never use a discriminating machine in the water again... but to each there own ;)

Hey Makahaman

some real bad black sand and black volcano slag will make the VLF detectors act like coo co clocks. I heard of some people taking there new VLF Detectors to there Hawaii vacation and finding out that they could not even get the machine ground balanced........ if it was me going on the Hawaii vacation I would only bring a PI.

Agree with Craig. I have three White PI machines. The Pro will go deep and wear me out since I dive and snorkel so I am fanning and digging with a garden trowel. The Dual goes deep to the point that I only take it to beaches that I know have old, deep targets.
