CZ 21 for land use

New member
Do any of you guys use the 21 as a land detector also?
Is the 21 locked into a salt mode and if so will the manual GB over ride that fact making it suitable for land use?
And for the always asked question what kind of depth could you reasonable expect in mild soil conditions.

All info is appreciated.
Thanks

it is locked in salt. It can be used for land but you would not want it as your main land unit. The cz-21 is a beach machine. I have hit pennies at 10 inches in soil easy and dimes at 8-9 inches is about the deepest I have found. If you are primarily going to hunt on land I would suggest another detector all together but if you will be beach/land hunting and you can only afford one then I would pick the cz-21. Hope this helped.

Thanks for the reply PowerDetecting but i have a couple of other machines including a CZ3D. I was looking for something that is waterproof and would work well on land also. The CZ21 with its three tones like the CZ3D would be a plus i would think and the fact that it is waterproof they should compliment each other.

I read where the 21 high tone nickles also which i could live without for sure. Does the 21 high tone a lot of different targets the same as the 3D? Would prefer that it did not.

Thanks

Well the CZ-21 SOMETIMES gives a high tone on nickels. Sometimes not. Yes it is locked in salt mode and I found it chatted on land. I think if I used it more on land I would be able to adjust it but I also have an Edge. Only tried it twice so I for sure am not an expert.

Basically CZ21 was made for water and big and bulky and without no meter so would look for a weather resistant CZ for land use. Differs from a CZ3D as the audio parameters are different in advanced CZ mode but in reg CZ3D mode are basically the same as the CZ21. Depending on its tuning its a 9-11 inch unit on a dime...
In otherwords your CZ3D is reg mode is the same as a CZ21 without the waterproof capabilities but with a meter...
