CX 3 -Does anyone use these on farmland.

I have a garrett cx 3 ,i bought it off e -bay last year with 12inch 8 inch and 5 inch coil and carry bag , in mint condition too , this detector looks very nice . So far i have not used it much , my question is what is the best mode for searching farmland with iron in the soil. Motion or all metal mode any tips here are welcome. Little information is on the net about this detector. Anyone using this detector ??

I too use a CXIII. I find it to be a superior machine. I recently bought an ACE 250 figuring I would sell the CXIII and the coils and pocket more than $200. What I realized is, that with all of the rave reviews about the ACE, it does not come close to the CXIII. 24 Notch Discrimination and 24 graphic indicators, VCO, true ALL METAL mode and a much longer battery life are just a few of the things that separate the machines. Now I use both; the ACE being half the weight is great to keep in the Jeep for a quick hunt.

As far as farm hunting goes, check out the post from last week:
How good is the CXIII for Coin Hunting?

I would hunt in ALL METAL discriminate mode if there is iron. If the farm has little or no iron, go for the DEEP targets using NON MOTION ALL METAL.

I hope your unit has the POWER MASTER circuitry built in. It gives about 20% more depth than the older units.

I am still kicking myself in the butt for selling mine several years ago.....
