I dug this at about 4" this morning. I couldn't believe it. I hooped and hollered and did the dance. Man, what a rush.

I think you may well be right. Even though I don't know the value of this particular button.

I found out that it's post Civil War. According to one book they were produced between 1870 and 1900.

It's still a cool button.

Wow. :wiggle::wiggle::wiggle: Sweet. Could we please see the reverse side ?

Here you go.

Here's another one that you can read somewhat. It says Waterbury Button Co.

This data shows that it "could" be even PRE Civil War! Excellent find! I found all three of the larger Texas buttons at the same location and they have the same backmark as yours. The cuff button came from the DEEEP South! LOL
Here is the link for the rest of the backmarks.

Thanks Keith. That's interesting.

Beautiful buttons Keith. Did the Waterbury Button Co. Make Texas State Seal buttons before the war?

According to this chart they could have. I have Alberts Button Book and the Texas button does show up as period. Will take a pic ASAP.

What an awesome display of TX buttons. :clapping:
