I bought a good cutlass umax today, but find that the disc. has to be set high 4 or 5 to reject smaller iron.

is this normal? It picks up a gold ring at the setting of 5 loud and clear.

are you talking about silver umax?
did you mean reject in ground?
you dont need to reject absolutely
enough if it gives a broken sound
