Picked up an inline jack from Radio Shack $4.19 and cut the connector off the headphones and walla...
With the Pro Golds sounds are real different. Nice and crisp. World of difference.
Here is my hunting gear. Belt was under $10 from Freight Harbor. Had camera cases. Knee pads $5. Frisbee .99 cents used. Summer phones $19. Koss life time warranty. Thanks for reading... Z

you might need those warm weather phones in July...then again, maybe not...Happy and Successful hunting to you!

Nice setup. I like the web belt. You say you got it at harbor freight? So tell me now how do you like the AT Pro.

I just received mine today via the big brown truck.

Went out for about 15 minutes. Found a quarter in the neighbors yard. Went to a park that I have hit at least
400 time. Found a Chuckie Cheese token, 1 dime at about 5", a penny at about 6"and a nickel at about 7".

The first thing I noticed is that the connections for the coil and the headphones are CHEESEEEEEE!

I'm use to the Whites machines. They are like bullet proof. Not a rap against Garret, just an observation.

I also got a pro pointer and a 4.5 sniper coil. I plan on this machine being a back up to an MXT and a DFX. If

it works out to be better then the DFX becomes backup. My favorite machine in the world is MXT. I think this

Little machine may go a lot deeper than MXT.

Do you have a Gizmo on your machine. If so How do you like it.

Good Luck and HH

Mudpuppy it rained here in Milwaukee yesterday. But farther north it snowed. I got some detecting in yesterday even though it was low 40's and rain/wet. Just really having fun with this AT Pro. I think they should of named it AW for All Weather. I was looking for a pouch but too much money. So looked in the closet and had some brand new old camera bags. All I needed was a belt to hook it all together.
Luke99 the frisbee is for my drop cloth to hold dirt when I dig a hole. I live in a big city and people are almost always in the parks I am detecting and some don't like that I am digging holes in the parks. So I used the cloth to hold the dirt but some times lost one corner and the dirt spilled out on to the ground. Got the frisbee cut a notch in the lip and now just pour the dirt back into the hole. Besides that when the frisbee gets dirty I bang it against a tree or curb to clean it. If the frisbee gets too dirty I take the hose and wash it off and ready to go again. Another nice thing about the frisbee when my digging knife gets full of wet dirt I can scrape the dirt off with the frisbee. Don't have to use my hand to clean the dirt off or bang it against a tree. The frisbee is very light and last a long time. I am thinking of getting a bigger frisbee because I am digging deeper holes with the AT Pro even on 3 bars sensitivity. I don't like to dig too deep in the parks. And I am getting older and just like to have the coins on the surface or only a few inches down. I am a coin shooter.
Hope you really like metal detecting and just go out and have fun detecting. Happy Trails....Z

Yes H F sorry Sparkster. Like the White's had a XLT. I hear the MXT, DFX are good detectors. The AT Pro is a very tough detector. I am not running with environment covers or even a coil cover. I like the iron thing on the AT. It is a great detector. The connectors are what have worked for Garrett for years and why try to fix something that works. I don't think Garrett thought that so much about what other people where using from other manufactures and it has come back to bit them you know where? It is a good thing because Garrett is now a big contender in detecting and Garrett is playing catch up in its own way. Just a thought ... You will like the AT Pro if you take time with it. Thanks for reading .....Z

awsome set up !! heading out tommorow for the first time with my new at pro ! happy hunting all :detecting:

Zeekeys, thanks for the post. Good idea on the frisbee! I've been using a baggie to pile dirt on, but yesterday I laid out the baggie only to have the wind blow it away. Naturally, I bolted after it only to come up short with the headphone cord. Comedy capers!

Hate to tell you this, on a windy the frisbee will also blow away. I put my foot on it or digging tool or pin pointer or ??? Only on windy day. Other wise works just fine. Happy Trails......Z

I cut the cord on mine also. Spent this morning getting the part and soldering. I cancelled my adapter order with Kellyco. Saved myself some money and no longer have to wait. The RATS sound real good.

I have an adapter on order from Garrett. I don't want to cut into the stock headphones, so I am just waiting until the adapter arrives to test out a few sets of phones that I have thrown together. Meanwhile I am having fun with the AtPro,

Jerry

No Big Red I didn't have to cut anything. I had my Pro Golds sitting in the closet along with my warm weather headphones doing nothing. I got up one morning and decided it was an easy operation and I could use any headphones I wanted to use. Within 20 minutes I was out in the park with my Pro Gold headphones on enjoying using the AT Pro that much more. It was a personal choice. That's all.....Z

I think we all have or had an adapter on order. That was the problem. On order doesn't help with the hunt. I have a pair of RATS that I really like. I didn't like the Garrett stock headphones. After reading a good number of threads I decided that the AT Pro will be a dirt maybe dry sand machine for me. I just have better detectors for the salt water and wet sand. I am totally blown away by the clarity of the AT Pro sounds now. A big difference.

Gad zooks I have the same experience with the Pro Golds. Nice crisp sounds. I even think I am getting deeper targets??? It just seems that I am digging more targets up just past the speaker on the Garrett pro pin pointer. Must be 5" anyway. Never measured. I use 3 bars on my sensitivity. Only looking for those shallow targets.......Z
