Custom hard case for my Etrac. MUST SEE!

After getting my new used Etrac the thought of it rolling around in my storage unit, like my IDX Pro, was just not going to happen. I searched the web for a good deal on a Pelican hard case, but the cost of a new one of those would set me back almost 200 bucks. I knew at times the detector would stay in storage for 3-4 months at a time without being used. So I definitely wanted to be secure and water tight. Taking a different direction I came up with this solution to the problem. Let me know what you think.

Looks great! Good idea. Even some room for extra gold!

:thumbup:Is A superb idea !

I like it,Very cool!

A real nice case - would be great for travel too !

Who is the mfg. of this case ?

Very nice case. I like how it all fits in there. No cramming and looks like room for other odd items too.

Hey, no teasing allowed! We want to know who makes this case, where it can be bought, and the cost.

That looks like a Stanley FatMax 28. What a great Idea Robert.....

This project turned out sweet! room for everything you need plus a space under the mud tray for my web belt and relic bag. Total cost: 4 trips to the hardware store, $75.00 in parts and about 20 hrs. of prep time putting it all together. Now that I know where everything fits I could probably do it in 5 hrs. The most time consuming art is cutting the foam bottom to fit. This was so much fun to make, I felt like a kid playing with the card board box after opening my birthday presents. Even my wife asked me at one point, " Have you even turned on your machine yet? "

That is just awesome, thanks for the winter project idea.:clapping:

It's very well done
You have way way too much time on your hands

Nice Case!!!!!!

Excellent job! A lot of good thought went into it for sure.

Ooooohhhh.....I will be making one of these myself! I bet you could make them and sell them easily, although that's a lot of time to put in on em. Nice! Love it!

If this is a stanley fatmax 28 inches long I seen them on sale for $24.00. I think I will buy one for a xmas gift:clapping:

If there is some interest, I can try to put together a parts list and instructions on what I did.
