custom coin pattern

Would someone please explain to me how to make a particular custom coin pattern from the 'Advanced Learn' mode. I have seen and read several examples that show a perfectly rectangular box at the top right with another box towards the bottom where the nickels are learned in. I have no problem creating the box at the bottom for nickels. However, when I try to learn in the rectangular box at the top, it is never quite the recommended size that I've read about and seen in examples. I'm using the large cursor so as to open up more of the screen but it is still much smaller than what is recommended. I've used every possible American coin I can think of going back to about 1860 but that doesn't seem to help. I would like to make the box larger as recommended so as not to miss a coin that may jump around next to another object or in mineralized ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

go into the edit program..start with a black screen....use big cursor..then ya can adjust the size of the area you want...after you do that..learn your nickel in learn mode...if ya have a problem..the manual will pick up where i left off...HH
