Curious

I am curious as to the advantages and disavantages of analog over digital. I am thinking digital may make for a liter machine?
Do the analog machines seem to go deeper than the digital?

:detecting: I don't know about going deeper, but on the one that I like and use a lot, there is not a lot of audio boost. Therefore the deep targets (coin size) are much fainter than the shallow ones. As far as I am concerned that is a very big plus. I can usually tell if it is a good target and how deep, just by the sound in all metal mode. I can guess coins and depth about 40/60% of the time. Having said that I hunt jewelery almost all the time and knowing the approx depth is a big big plus. Most junk is shallow and masking is not as big of a problem. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

KOOL KAT!..analog technology can be "dead nuts" accurate on coins, however most detectors that have analog meters have "slower" processors,so a small coil is the tool of choice in trashy environments so as to attain proper separation between targets, however that can also be said of digital meters as well,so one has to consider that "both" technologies will work, depending upon choice of coils,AND the detector's ability to separate trash from treasure.

:detecting: The one that I use (Tesoro Inca) has very good responce speed. Not quite as fast as some of the new Tesoros, but much faster than most machines and I love those old soft tones. Bill in texas :tesoro: Vaquero, Inca, Silver Umax
