i see them on the net for sale.. hate to pay $35.00 one.. does not seem worth it.. how would you know it you need one? cramps?

If you can swing the detector for a full hunt and not get sore then you can save your money. The gizmo helps to balance the detector for me. It allows me to hunt longer, more often and enjoy it more.

While the price might seem steep to you I will tell you that it is very well made. The fit is very precise. The handle will break before the Gizmo.

The price is not all that bad when you consider the amount of work to make one and you really need access to a lathe.

I made one out of 3/4 inch dowel, some black paint and some bolts. Works great and cost around 5 bucks

I also made mine from an old broom handle. Turned it down to fit. That is the kind of things I do. Others may find it more difficult, which was the point of my post.
