I have a site that was a homesite from the 1830s, then a Confederate hospital, then a yankee camp for two+ years... there's lots and lots of stuff there BUT it is horrible ground. It is a 4 acre hill/lawn in an area full of iron ore and there is a high trash count too. The ground is really, really bad. I have three detectors. My first detector was a Sovereign GT and i put a lot of cash into it. I have a Digimeter, an inline probe, and 12", 10", 8" and 5" coils. It has served me well on many sites but there are parts of this site where the GT is all but useless... and as you can imagine this part of the yard is just full of goodies.
I also have a T2 and it perform's a bit better than the GT but is get's overwhelmed in the worst/hottest parts of the place. The T2 has a function that measures Fe content of the ground and it read's over 1%... between 1% and 3% actually... and fwiw, that's HIGH.

Enter the Tejon with the 5.75 coil. Here come the cuff buttons and the teardrop bullets. It does not blink an eye. Don't even chatter...just sound's off and find's the goodies. Easy to tell too. I can turn 90 degrees and recheck and know if I have a good target or trash.
It really is amazing the difference between the GT, the T2, and the Tejon when hunting in severe ground.

Now, in a park or a regular old yard the T2 would rule. In the woods hunting a campsite or something like that the T2 and the Tejon would run neck and neck. At the beach.. the Gt would be Lord and Master.

BUT... under severe mineralization... the Tejon stand's head and shoulders above the others.

Thank you Tesoro!!!

I will have some pictures of my finds from this site up later this week. I have them all pulled out, ready to clean and display.

Definitely true that each has it's own merit... If you were not in heavy minerals... I am sure other units would come up for discussion!... I am glad you gave us your opinion on all 3 units! A well written report!
