Cuba

Metalpickle

New member
Going to Cuba in January and I wanted opinion on whether I should bring along the ATPro. Not sure if it's a safe thing to do or even a proper thing to do there. I'm in uncharted territory. Could use the wisdom of the forum on this one please.

Being a US citizen I wouldn't go there! Plus you wouldn't be able to use a metal detector there. Do to the laws against it. Safe travels.

You'll need to contact the Cuban authorities before you go, if you can. It seems that US and Cuban relations are improving but it makes finding ways of communicating difficult. My In laws went there on holidays about 8 years ago. They found the people to be very friendly, albeit, not well paid. from what they describe, the Cubans are also a very resilient bunch.
i doubt that they would have seen much in the way of detectors before (I could be wrong). You might just kick off a new hobby.

I wanted to take my metal detector to Israel last winter but I figured I would either be arrested or they would put me to work clearing unexploded ordnance. ;)
