CTX3030 storing question

New member
I like to extend the shaft almost all the way when I detect. I was wondering if this stresses the coil cable and if I should shorten it during storage between hunts. I'm a weekend hunter so would it benefit me to shorten the machine down during the week? Any other maintainence tips?

I have a big hunt next week and I'm paranoid the machine will fail, I've seen coil issues and machine not powering up problems.. I'm bringing my Etrac along too, I just know my ctx3030 will do much better as its heavily infested with iron.

I always keep mine short when not in use but I wouldn't think leaving it extended would cause any harm. The coil cable is plenty long enough and stretchy.

I took a sharpy marker and drew a line around,y shaft at the length I prefer. That way I don't have to extend it to fit every time.
