CTX3030 Start up Screen Problem ?

Hello everyone,
Just wondering if any one here has seen this issue with the Start Up welcome screen on the CTX3030? When I turn on the CTX the detector makes the typical start up tune and then goes into the Minelab Start up welcome screen and will just sit there and not go into the search mode screen ? The detector is working as I can place metal objects in front of the coil and you can here a typical signal response. I have to turn the CTX off again and then back on and it will then go into the search mode screen and is ready to go.
Has any one seen this or can you let me know how I can rectify this problem.I have tried to reset the CTX but this has had no effect.

If you have already tried doing a full factory reset like Mrspk recommended and it didn't resolved the issue, a phone call to Minelab is in order. Most likely you will need to send it in to them....
 
Try doing a hard reset to see if that fixes it. If not, you'll have to send it in.
 
My CTX is in the shop for that very reason. Stuck on the welcome screen and none of the buttons worked although I was able to hunt by listening to the tones. Turned it off and on several times and it was still stuck. I did not try a factory reset prior to sending it in. If I were you I would try that BEFORE sending it to Kellyco. Minelab sends all the CTX's to Kellyco for repairs. My machine has been there for three weeks now. They never answer their phone...I have left 3-4 messages and still have not got a return phone call. We had a week long beach trip planned very soon and it's not like I get to go on vacation very often. Feel like my right arm is useless without the 3030.

Hello Strick, Thanks for the reply and I'm sorry you have this problem as well, I have decided to live with this problem for a couple more weeks and I will call Minelab's Australian Service dept in Adelaide South Australia and talk to their Service dept and work out what is this best way to solve this problem. Its unfortunate that you guys in the State's have to go through a third party like Kellyco to get required repairs. If by luck you get your CTX problem sorted out can you ask them what causes the problem and let us all know on this forum , and if I find out before you do I will let you know as well?

Would be good to know...most screen/head issues I've seen can be traced to di-hydrogen monoxide contamination. ;) (H2O / water)

Shoot me a pm with your name and I will check on it for you when I visit KC today, I plan on going to talk to my hunting partner in the repair center......
 
Machine is on its way back home..I talked with them yesterday. They said that they could not get the machine to duplicate the issues but that there was a problem with the touch pad. Would not switch back and forth when toggling the detect button. I really think water somehow got into the head of the machine because I had not issues prior to the water hunt. Great machine but don't trust it fully in water.

Hello, I was curious if there was a resolve on this exact matter? My ctx is doing the same thing. Powering up and staying in the minelab screen. Still function, as far as detecting from sounds, but no function of the screen itself. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
