Is it true you can set the CTX3030 to sound off on targets with the same tones as the Excalibur 11

Not that I've ever heard or heard of. JMHO HH Randy

Aussie, I too am an x-explorer guy and yesterday relic hunting I used an open screen in my relic program with FE 35 I think. I used my explorer with open screen and ferrous tones. Don't know why but if I changed ctx 3030 to mode 2 with just the tiny bit of bottom right blocked out it was giving a false high pitch on iron instead of the low solid iron tone in the open screen. I am feeling mode 2 was acting like the explorer with iron mask which I never used. Maybe someone with experience can chime in? Yesterday was only my second woods relic hunt but setup my way I hit 2 separate minnie balls in the 14" deep measured range. I used my phone to video them. If I can figure how to post or share it would be great

I am thinking it would be somewhat possible to do. What is needed is the Megahertz that the Excalibur makes on the piece of gold you like best! If you use combine tones and set the 4 bins up with your gold tone being that of what the Excalibur makes and then the three other bins of another tone you like from the Excalibur you'll have somewhat of what your looking for. But if you think it throught the Excalibur never makes they same tone for every piece of gold it sees.. I have found many nice pieces of gold that were a complete surprise to me using the Excalibur/GT that were way too high form me. What is always consistent with gold with the Excalibur is the Ramp up/down doesn't ever wafer or drag with gold.Your headphones will change the tones aswell as the volume on the Excalibur! The 3030 will mimic the Excalibur to a certain exstent when in 50 tones mode.I have not been able to confirm gold with sound alone with the 3030. I am thinking that the machine assigns a tone based on CO number it places the target in electricly so to speak. Kinda like a beep and dig machine, just the machine gives differnt tones for each target, not just the same tone.So the target won't drag or ramp up or down when the differnt metals are read at once. With the 3030 you have the added screen to make the target a better chance of being gold by cursor placement.Hope this kinda makesome sence???
