I've been happy with the results of the CTX 3030 on hard hit sites with the stock 11" coil, but I got a chance to try the 17" coil today and all I can say is WOW. I took it to the city park and to the locations we had hunted to death with our E-Tracs but I knew that were more deeper coins. It was nothing short of amazing. As soon as I stepped in to the grass I was getting good solid signals. Every target I dug had a keeper with the exception of 3 which I had to write off as UDO's. Unidentified Deep Objects. Could not get to them. Other than those every thing was a keeper. Several had good sized pieces of iron in the same hole and still told me there was a coin there. Pinpointing did take a little more getting used to, I scraped a few coins, but soon it was no problem. I haven't had a day like this since I started hunting this park with the E-Trac some 4 years ago. One even turn out to be a 1943 steel penny rusted which I broke trying to pull a knot of rust off. It was in with a silver war nickle.
Tally for 2 1/2 hours of hunting was 11 keepers. 8 wheat pennies, a merc, a rosie and a silver war nickle all from a site pretty much clean out for the E-Trac.
