My CTX has the Saltwater mode on it. If I understand it correctly that is the latest.
Question is how do you know when there is a new update?

when you log onto the Exchange program there will be a red exclamation point at the top of the page,,,,
 
While you can determine what software level is in the CTX 3030 by using the exchange program, I've wondered why Minelab doesn't just display the software version on the splash screen when the CTX is powered up?. It' obviously stored in the CTX memory and would be just a matter of retrieving/displaying it.
