Hi all I've been searching but can't seem to find a post I read about a protective film you can apply over the CTX3030 screens. From what I remember it protects and cuts down glare sounded like a great product. Please if anyone knows about this product and if you don't mind send a pm to me thanks.

You can go to any office supply, or electronics store and buy protective film.
Just cut to size.

That's the way to go, I got one online for an older ipad for about twelve bucks. I was able to do a couple phones and two detectors.

i cut and installed a screen protector plus I also run this protective cover on mine. It can also be purchased with a sunvisor that velcros to the top(pictured)which helps in the sun!

Thanks for all your replies helped heaps.

That stinks

The static cling type does not work under water, you need the adhesive type.

I bought a iPad protective screen from the dollar store today and will cut it and have extra left over for next time. Can't go wrong with spending a buck to protect a $2000 metal detector. How many of you made your own covers? Either out of canvas or whatever else.

Hey bigboar, where did you get your cover?

I use vinyl sheet that I cut to fit from a super store - bought a 3'X3' sheet a few years ago for about a buck-fifty.

Hey Bigboar - where did you get that protective cover and visor? I like it!

The cover is made by milspec and they are the best covers I have ever seen. I have one for my 705 too and its just as nice. They are hand made out of denier and look like they will last forever. You can get them from New England Detectors. I help them out on the forum so u can pm me and I can check stock status for u or you can contact member Minelabdealer directly on here or email sales@newenglanddetectors.com
