CTX screen problem

My CTX just started acting up, I turn it on its OK but if I press the menu button it goes into some gps screen
some of the buttons do not work or will do something different they they are supposed to. I can't do a master resent because I can move the selection down.

Any other way to reset this thing.. Looks like it needs to be sent in

MAYBE PULL THE BATTERY
wen its on and see if any change but it dont look good!!

Try a manual reset! (Page 50 of user manual). Remember that you will lose all of your modes installed on the machines but you can reload with xchange2.

Did that several times.
Took it out this evening and while I'm hunting it changes screens, all by itself the threshold screen comes up and starts climbing up to 50, while its going up I'm pressing the button to go down. was finally able to get it to go to the volume limit instead so it stops at 30 and I can hunt.
It finally stopped changing screens but I can't switch modes, Sometimes pinpoint won't work.
I was still able to find things in the sand but its a pain when I can't pinpoint.

Did you try pressing and holding the "on" button ?

circuit board took a dump. he will be sending it back sorry to say!! it sucks! but what can you do.

here is were a back up detector comes in handy!!

Will be sending it in for service. Its been fine for a year and all of a sudden This CTX is possessed.
Most of the buttons Don't respond, I can turn it on and still hunt but can't change any settings, its stuck in the last mode it was in, except when it changes modes on its own. When I was hunting the volume limit came up and started moving down, I kept trying to increase it but it just went to 1 and stayed there. Couldn't get that screen back up.
But I did find a 14k ring, couldn't pinpoint (button doesn't work) but was still able to use to the coil to get the general area.

Hope they can repair it and return it soon, I signed up for the Bootcamp in Maryland on the 25th

yes kellco in FL. and they took care of my screen but did not warranty screen because i @!# it up!!! but quick turnaround !! had it back in 2 weeks if you have any questions

4 them just send e-mails and you can talk with tech but i will say they are ok!! to deal with.

Such a high dollar machine...I have two....both have been sent back.....USB..showing on screen......lines on screen on left..had that happen twice?...battery took a poop....water got in to battery(this is separate from the battery taking a poop)...sure hope they will last?.........I use them for water and trashy areas on land...in parks..I think nothing can touch a E-TRAC!!!!................Good Luck!!!!

E-TRAC
is a good detector but i think the CTX is even better. i know it sucks wen they go bad i also get piss wen them high dollar detectors go bad

i wish they could make a detector that would last a life time but now i am dreaming!! so we take are lumps and keep swinging!! maybe one

day they will make things to last.
