I finally pulled my CTX 3030 out of the box and assembled it. It will not turn on. Do I have to plug it in to a computer to program it before it will turn on?
 
Nope, should be ready to go right out of the box. Your battery might be run down for some reason though.
 
Thanks for the information Larry. I had two different sets of regular batteries and neither one turned it on. I am charging the lithium now and will try it later tonight. Thanks again!
 
Ditto on what Larry said, if it still doesn't work you can call Minelab at 877-767-6522 and they'll issue you an RA number so you can send it in. DOA's don't happen often, but with all things electronic it can.
