Worked OK when I put it up. Turned it on tonight and was only getting 1 inch in air test. Nothing changed since last hunt. Only difference battery is in the red. Are they sensitive to low charge.

Lithium Ion batteries are not like the old Nimh and Nicads. They're at 12 volts one moment and dead the next, almost 99.9% sure it's just a dead battery.

Changed coil back to stock coil and its OK. The 6 inch coil is new maybe had 1 week. My last hunt with 6 inch coil seemed OK. Something has happened no cuts or nick in the wire coil or coil cover looks new. I need coil by Saturday hopefully mine lab will work with me to get one fast. Is there any known coil problems. This one will not register on a manhole cover even while touching it.

That sucks! Hopefully you can get it squared away. I would try charging the battery and doing a reset if possible before sending it in. Perhaps you'll get lucky and it's just a glitch that will quickly work itself out.

Make sure you have a good tight(finger tight) coil connection on the machine. I myself have not heard anything about bad six inch coils. Have you taken the machine outside and done a noise cancel? Hope you get your peoblem fixed in time for your hunt. Good luck and HH :minelab:

A low battery shouldnt affect it that badly. I hunted yesterday in the red and it was fine. Your coil might be shot or have a loose connection. The above advice is excellent from Hershey.

That might not necessarily be the coil...
The coil might be perfect...sometimes a large metal mass, can cause a detector to blank due to a sudden overloading...especially if ferrous!
Result, if lowered on top momentarily...silence and/or a broen up dull fuzzy response...if that happens that's good...shows the coil is working.
Try the same thing in an all metal screen...
It might also be the Settings?
Is there a lot of Disc on??

Open screen. Tight connection. Won't pick coins up either.swapped coils 5 times last night and stock one hits a dime at 8 inches in the air 6 inch coil won't register at 1 inch same program and settings. The large metal manhole usually sets the machine in overload nothing on the 6 inch but stock coilwill. I will call minelab today.

I had a problem with my 6". I bought one last fall but didn't use it until this spring. Went to the chips and couldn't get a signal. Put a coin on the ground and ZERO sounds. After playing around with it, i shortened the shaft all the way and it worked. Called ML told them of the problem. They said bring it in. I live 10 miles away, GOOD thing!!
They Xchanged with on ?'s asked!! THANKS ML!!
