Ctx deeper then etrac

spanish silver

New member
I am finding that my ctx goes about 2 inches deeper then my etrac did in my dirt, has anyone else found the ctx deeper or maybe its just the stabilized TID, a 8 inch dime on my etrac would sound horrible in my dirt and the TID would be all over the place, now with the ctx I and digging 9-10 inch dimes that have a solid TID and sound great. So in my mind the ctx is alot deeper machine in my dirt then the etrac, I hope to see other people experience's and if they see a huge jump in depth in there dirt, cheers

A little deeper than my E-Trac but much more stable ID's and audio/tones at those same deep levels.Tested a lot of natural in-ground targets and found this to be the case most every time.So the CTX has quite a bit more (easily usable) depth in my soil.
On the other hand the 13x17 coil makes the CTX a depth demon in my soil.I have found that it will hit my 10" silver test garden dime and ID it with manual sensitivity dialed down to 16. At 15 it will just make the "thunking" sound.

I would have to say YES, the CTX is deeper than an Etrac. Here's why. I have hunted several times with a few guys who hunt with Etrac's.
We would find a target and see how well the CTX would do. I found many silver dimes at the 9-11inch range and when I unpluged the headphones from the WI-FI, the target was loud and clear. When the Etrac's went over them, there was NO sound to be heard. This was done countless times.
Now this was my and two other hunter's observations. Since then the Etrac owner's have upgraded to the CTX and sold their Etrac's.

Mine is much deeper then my Ace 250!!!! I am getting silver as deep as 8-10".

Under certain conditions, without a doubt.

In the last month I've had to rethink this very idea. I used the E-Trac for 4 years and to the point we were one. I felt very confident I was getting the very best performance out of my E-Trac. My hunting buddy also uses the E-Trac and has gotten very good. In fact, he was out hunting me in our city park going home with more keepers often. That has all changed now that I use the CTX. For example in the last 4 hunts I've come home with 7 wheats and 4 silvers while he's come home with 1 wheat. He is starting to get a little frustrated that I'm constantly finding more keepers even though we're hunting the same spots at the same time. Some can be attributed to luck, being the first to walk over a keeper, but that generally only applies occasinally and not consistantly. When you consistantly find more you've got to look toward more than luck. This last month I've had several targets he checked with his E-Trac and felt they were junk but the CTX called them good and the were keeper coins.

I haven't noticed a depth difference yet, but the more stable TID is very obvious on my CTX. I shelved my CTX for a few days and used my E-Trac. When I switched back to the CTX, the TID was much more cler and obvious.

I haven't seen any depth increase. The tid is more accurate at depth, in heavy trash or on edge. The audio is ALWAYS the best indication to dig!

It is deeper under the right circumstances. The circumstances being anywhere the e-trac was unstable due to EMF... I had places where the e-trac ran in 12 auto sens and the CTX has no problem going up to 23/24 sens. This alone equates to more depth... In fact, most places I run higher more stable sensitivity.

I find my Etrac deeper because it runs more stable at full manual sensitivity of 30 than my CTX. My CTX goes ballastic in manual sensitivity anything over 24 at all my sites.. I'm suspecting a coil issue perhaps. It's fine in auto even when auto. +3 rubs over 26, but the machine doesn't like manual, regardless of noise cancel channels I toggle through.

I think something is wrong with your machine, because I'm definitely going deeper at the same spots than my ETRAC ever did, in fact, found 3 silver dimes around old plugs that were 2-3" deeper that the ETRAC missed. Might be because there's a high concentration of iron here, and the CTX hits those targets whereas the ETRAC nulls. Either way the CTX is beating my ETRAC silver count week in and week out. Get that machine of yours sent in and see what's wrong with it.
