CTX 6in Coil nets 100+ year old Silver!!!

Went door knocking in the "hood" with another detectorist... Actually he did the knocking. LOL! Found the silver Washington at an abandoned house that is awaiting demolition. The soil around this place was like cement! Fortunately for us the old coins were very shallow. After digging a few wheats and some junk, I got a powerful signal in the quarter range. I hacked away at the hole until I could see the quarter at about 3 inches. The next yard was interesting because the parents grudgingly gave permission to my friend after some bargaining. Then they turned two kids loose on us and nearly drove us crazy. In the midst of all this mayhem I got a 4 way repeatable dime signal at about 5in. I was hoping for a silver Rosie. Instead, out pops a 1910 Barber dime in decent shape! This is the first Barber dime I have ever found! I found my first Barber quarter last year.

To tally up the hunt, I found 10 wheats, two silvers, a good luck token, a compact, and an AMC medallion. The small coil did an awesome job separating junk from keepers. The depth was very adequate finding wheats at 8+in. Thanks Sube for encouraging me to spend some time with this coil!!
