How come i see alot of these forsale on the forum
Any kind of issue with them
I was thinking of buying one

This topic been beat to DEATH, then kicked for good measure. Just do a forum search. Every detector has its pros and cons.

Hard to say why, maybe it doesn't suit the user's needs or lives up to one's expectations. I can honestly say that mine has been sent back to Minelab for a few small problems and was promptly fixed. I've had mine for nearly two years already and recently my battery compartment leaked while it was submerged under salt water. I promptly called Minelab and shipped them my ctx, in less than two weeks later I received a new control box and battery. They do a great job with answering your questions and addressing the issue promptly.

I have found so much with my ctx, more than all other previous machines I have owned combined. I love the weight, feel, and performance. At times I have thought about trading it in for an ATX but I think I'll stick with my ctx for now. I will tell you this...if you properly maintain this machine by not throwing it around and keeping it clean, rinse it off with fresh water from your beach excursions then it should last you for many years.

For me the only thing that the ctx is missing to be an ultimate machine is.., say it with me IN LINE PROBE. if the ctx ever gets that then what other detectors. That's my honest opinion I have had others but haven't came close to what I have seen from this machine. Good luck

Everybody swaps and plays around that's why. Some guys get to the end of the season and sell just like anything else. If you get a shot at a unit in the $1400-1700 price range and if you can afford it without whining then buy it.

Great machine its a silver magnet, my ply complaint is its a bit heavy for extended swinging at 60+ years.

ha ha, try swing for a few hours with that 17'' coil.

I swung the 17" for almost 10 hours last time I was at the beach. I feel the CTX overall is well balanced.

Funny I was thinking that I have seen a lot of Etracs for sale! I think some give up quickly or just "dont get it" I had an etrac for quite some time and never seemed to get the hang of it? Great machine but for some reason the CTX and I get along great? Very steady and the tone bins are awesome

Don't do it. ATX is PI machine... and this kind of detector works good only in shallow water and desert with high mineralized groud.

I've had mine for almost a year now and no problems at all, but then I treat it like the precision instrument that it is. Some people say it's heavy or poorly balanced but I've never found it to be so with the stock coil. I'll have to agree with smkunder, the 17" coil does get a little heavy after a couple of hours for us 60+ guys. The 3030 is the best detector I've ever used.

Although I am new with my CTX, (about 6 months) I can tell you I hunt a park that's close to where I live. I know it had to have been hunted hundreds if not thousands of times and I find coins each time out, even if spending 30-45 minutes I average 3-4 coins. I am just waiting for the first ring.
