CTX 3030 Updates

Hello,

I have (2) 3030's, I've contacted Kellyco many times to ask about sending my unit in for the arm cuff and battery compartment upgrade. After repeatedly being told that Minilab has not sent them any parts, I finally gave up. They were very gracious and said to keep calling back. I did this for a year, with no luck. Hoping to get some good news from the forum folks here.

Thanks,
SP

Call or email Minelab Americas Customer Care 1-877-767-6522 ask for Jamie her email is Jamie.Moeller@minelab.com. I just received mine back from repair and they put on a new back end.

As far as the battery compartment up grade,I spoke to our local Minelab distributor, and was told that the rear bulk head is the same, all that needs to changed is the battery and battery seal.

thats not correct. There is a change to it. If you look at pics of the bulkhead you can see it has new lugs that they call a sand block or something like that.

U would think while upgrading ite battery compartment they would have put those prongs on top. To go along with this. Im told if you get the upgraded battery u have to also get a new charger?

Correct, on bottom of charging cradle on left side of label is a REV#, only REV-4 works on the new batteries, REV 1, 2 or 3 will not do a full charge on the new batteries.

The upgraded rear housing where battery plugs in has the new sand gasket which is grey colored, it is alsu 'U' shaped, the flat side touches the housing the round side touches the battery when installed. The new batteries also have a rubber lip around the out side of battery wher it plugs in to the rear housing, the old batteries had a hard plastic lip.

TH...... there are a lot of the OLD machines out there now, i assume the OLD batteries are no longer available? So we are looking at about $310 if your battery dies? Im betting someone has already figured this out and has a way to REPLACE the batteries in the old pod? How about the AA holders? Did they change to the new design as well? If so i suspect these Older style AA holders might be something to hang on to.

aj's battery thread linked above is one of my favorites of all time. I almost wish my 3+yr old battery would die so I can do his hack.
