CTX 3030 Target Trace / Pinpoint Trace - Smartfind 2 - visually identifying multiple targets

Here is a new TTBlog from Minelab's website:

Nice article with visuals Randy.

Do you like hunting with the compass on the screen in general? I do sometimes see I walked way off track and wonder if it helps you to keep tighter patterns?

Thanks for taking the time,
Albert

Thanks Albert, Actually, this particular hunt was in a relatively small park. So navigating or gridding was not an issue. I had simply left the GPS on as part of the testing process. I'm sure many of the things I did over the course of this product's development would seen "odd" by some. But I always figured that, until you get the whole puzzle put together, you don't know if the pieces will all fit properly. HH Randy

Thanks! HH Randy

Thanks Don. HH Randy

Excellent thank you again! On a side note I have been following my fedex guy so tommorrow I will cut him off at the pass and claim my CTX :beers:

so basicly minelab have made a screen to see targets that are still masked by iron from the null affect they enjoy and does not give a real seperate tone but is on a screen indicating there could be a good conductive target there?

The Smartscreen2 will indicate all targets under the coil. As to audio response......if there is a rejected target and an accepted target under the coil at the same time, Ferrous - Coin Separation will allow the CTX 3030 to provide the tone of the accepted target. If there are two accepted targets under the coil, Ferrous - Coin will provide the tone assigned to the most conductive target. HH Randy

cool thanx, so one has to see the targets accepted, ferrous or not then hold trigger to maintain screen reading and then switch to get audio seperation! so if it will assigne a tone to the most conductive metal which is very often sizable iron! is it possible to get tones first in a reactive seperation way then use the screen?

If both targets are set to be "accepted" targets, then you could separate them and ID them "one at a time". But if I am hunting in an area with iron, I would reject the portion of the screen with highly ferrous targets. Then, the audio response is based on the accepted targets. HH Randy

surely this would result in more tone masking if one is rejecting most iron and noble metals may be close? so one would still be looking at the screen al the time?

Ferrous - Coin Separation is new functionality built into the CTX 3030. Ferrous - Coin uses advanced signal processing techniques to minimize the blending of ferrous and coin type target signals even when they are on top of each other. Both targets will be more accurately identified and their cursors displayed simultaneously on the Detect screen. If both targets happen to be in an accepted areas of the screen, such as when using a fully open/All Metals discrimination pattern, the Target ID number displayed
will be from the coin type object. If you take a look at some of the videos that other forum members just posted today, you'll get a better idea of how little masking the CTX 3030 allows. HH Randy
