This weekend at the beach, I was working this one area (about 0230) when 2 other detectorist were coming toward my direction. I said hi and smiled. They weren't the talkative type. Not even a smile. They stop to search around the area I was at, then one of them told me he didn't like the interference my detector was causing with their detectors. I just smiled and said mine didn't seem to have a problem. Anyway, I could hear their detectors screaming and chattering from their headphones. Eventually they moved on.

The only difference to my 3030 when they were around, was it was acting like the sensitivity was a little high. But this really didn't interfere with my detecting. I didn't have to hit the noise cancellation.

Great electronic countermeasures!

I wish i asked what detectors they were using. They didn't look like Minelab's.

Wow, they sound like a swell couple of characters...

Mike,

Yes...nice guys, indeed!

They may have been using Fisher CZ's...my wife's CZ goes berzerk if we're within yelling range. (not angry yelling...mind you...just loud communication)

:)

that's funny , I know what I would have said :poke: something like well it must be a sign for you to move on, that's like when people come sit on top of you fishing like theres a whole ocean and you want to sit on me to wet a line grow up kiddies :punch:

They got the idea when I continued what I was doing...without problems. I think these guys are locals....I drive in from 3 hours away occasionally on a weekend night when I have the next day for sleeping/recovery.

This got me thinking, if we eventually get my wife a detector it would be great to find one compatable with mine. Will another Minelab throw up interference between the 2?

Thanks again, Mike

my mate cant come near me with his etrac drives him nuts and I do hear it too, but yeah maybe if noise cancelled close to each other at the same time might fix that ?

AJ

Same with Safari and CTX. About 10' and CTX starts loudly signaling its dislike of older brother.

My buddy and I can hunt within a few feet of each other and he uses a Teknetics T2. He does his ground balance thing, then I turn mine on and if I hear any chatter I do a noise cancel. Most times, I do not have to.

Hi all, this weekend I when over to my local park with my new 17 inch coil, I went back over the area I had already covered with the stock coil. All I can say is wow, I picked 65 more coins and 2 tokens.
With the stock coil I rarely saw displayed depths of 8 inches. with the larger coil I saw 12 inches on several targets. Now I have to start over on this park that I believed I was cleaning out. (wrong)
I highly recommend this upgrade. I worried about my arm getting tired, but as is turned out I was digging so much it didn't turn into a problem.

YA I WOULD SAVE THE BIG BOY 4 LAST AND THEN OPEN UP A NEW OLD SPOT BUT USEING A BIG COIL IN A TRASHY SPOT 1ST. WILL GIVE YOU THE BLUES !!

I did dig my share of trash, I watch the vdi closely and try to pick the good targets. but screw caps and pull tabs are plentiful

I have my Whites MXT as a hand off for friends, When we get within 15 feet the MXT starts chattering, The CTX3030 is quiet as a mouse. The only problem I have had with the 3030 is overhead or underground electrical. This goes away if I go to coin search instead of all metal.

I had a similar experience. An off duty lifeguard using a White's dual field PI wasn't too happy to see me. He said that my CTX caused interference "50 ft. away".

I hope to get out to the park this Sunday, I ended last week with 164 coins, This week only 44 coins 9 quarters 7 dimes no nickels the rest pennies
I have learned that the CTX will read the same on many coins and aluminum caps, but when you squeeze the pin point trigger aluminum rings much higher than a coin and you can keep swinging.
I have not posted any videos as so many people are digging cool antique coins. This park was built in the mid 70's so not much old here. If I want a large cent or Barber I buy them on eBay and pic some really nice ones. I just ordered a gofind 60 to leave in my car. I am looking forward to playing with it.

I went to my local park this weekend, I added 66 more coins to my jar. None are older than the 1960's, That's ok. Its only one block from my house. close is good! I am approaching 600 coins from this park. It has taken many trips there, but soon I will need a new place to search. I do not believe you ever clean a place out, but they are getting harder to find.
