[size=large]Put on a small coil, went into a trashy site I knew of in a cow pasture that used to be a Civil War encampment area. Within 2 minutes, I dug this lovely. How many of you recognize it right off? (click on photo's to enlarge)[/size]

[size=large]Here it is cleaned up a bit. I believe from the rough cast, it is a Confederate sabre guard. They were not near as finished and polished as the Union swords were.[/size]

[size=large]Looks to be hit by a plow, and nearly broken in half. Hey, it's not perfect, but I'll sure take it. It sure is cool. Picture below is what it would have looked like on a sword. Thanks for looking.[/size]
