[size=large]Here is a photo of belt plate in its new home... MINE! I retrieved this from the mud of a corn field where it had laid for nearly 150 years. A plow later cut it in half, spreading the 2 pieces 9 feet apart. I was able to locate both pieces of the belt plate and bend them back into shape. It now rests in a clean, padded display box... a fitting place for such a relic.
It is a 1840's pressed brass militia plate that was used through the Civil War. This stuff is so cool, I can't hardly stand it. [/size]
