:csflag: Received permission Monday to detect around a property where a 200+ year old house once stood....

[size=large]So today I went to check it out. Within 3 minutes, I found this 1828 large cent.[/size]

[size=large]Within 10 minutes I had found this 1727 cut Spanish coin.[/size]

[size=large]The mother of all buttons? ... I first thought it was an old drawer pull, but nope, it's a 2 piece button.[/size]

New to this board and I do have to say congrats! Nice spot and good luck on more good finds. Nice to see that you have left the coins as you found them. I specialize in early copper and it is a nightmare for me when I see guys "clean" the coins while damaging them.(Have seen thousands of dollars go down the tubes because of that!!) Make sure and check the copper for die varieties too. Again...NICE HUNTING!!!
 
You are fortunate to be able to obtain permission to hunt on properties like this.

Last week I politely requested permission of a family to hunt on a very old, abandoned property ( former farm).. property is just "sitting "there...old, run down buildings..

I assured the family that I would respect the property ,and explained that I would leave no evidence that I had been there..

I was told "This property is not accessible to anyone.. I will not grant you permission and I have informed the Police to immediately arrest anyone seen trespassing.":thumbdown:

I wished them a "Merry Christmas " and left it at that.:(
