OK I'm detecting along with visions of bullets, buttons and sword plates in my head. I get this "KILLER" signal that stopped me dead in my tracks. Its got belt plate written all over it. The ol' DFX is locked on like a bird dog on point, VDI reading 85 and it's about the right size and about 5 inches deep. This one feels right. I cut and extra large plug so I don't pull a Jim Campbell. Take out the plug and see the color of lead and a puppy paw hook!.... the back of a Civil War plate, Oh Baby, be Confederate!

I lift it from the hole. My, my, it's a real horker! I can't think of a plate this big in my Civil War books.

I hold my breath and turn it over, hmmmm... pretty fancy

A little brushing and my hopes are shattered, it's some kind of... horse buckle... HORSE BUCKLE!? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' HORSE BUCKLE!

Made in the 1970's Oh well, beats a jab in the eye with a sharp stick I guess.
